 Mr.
Young also participates in other areas of the audio world not directly
associated with record production, such as television, advertising, educational
market programs, and facility installations and planning. He has been involved
in musical instrument design and manufacture, as well--with the innovative
designer Ned Steinberger.
His one yearly foray into 'live sound' is with fellow Greenwich-ite Rob Mathes, who has put on a mega-production Christmas show for the past 6 years. Mr. Young has been FOH mixer for this show each year. Last year it included such artists as Michael MacDonald, Vanessa Williams, David Sanborn, Vaneese Thomas, and Will Lee. Lately, he's been doing a bit of computer programming and on-site trouble shooting for musicians who are musicians--not programmers. For instance, he made this web site for ACME. And finally, after a few nominations, he won a Grammy for producing Mama Don't Allow / Tom Chapin / Live Oak Media He lives in Old Greenwich, CT.--with wife, Bonnie, and son, Daniel (pictured here, at the zoo). |
